At the Columbus Metropolitan Club, we’re embarking on an exciting new chapter in our journey of connecting people and ideas through community conversation.

CMC has found a new home at The Ellis, a modern industrial event venue nestled in the heart of Italian Village in downtown Columbus, Ohio. This move offers us a dynamic opportunity to pilot a fresh space, engage with more residents and enhance our regular programming and operations.

You can find The Ellis at 777 North 4th Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215It’s conveniently accessible by car, COTA public transit, biking and walking.

getting there

By Vehicle

The Ellis is located on the west side of 4th Street/US 23 North in between Warren Street and E. 1st Avenue. It is located 600 feet from the I-670 West off ramp to North 4th Street, and about 1600 feet from the I-670 East off ramp.

By Public Transportation

The Ellis is only 100 feet from the 803 North 4th Street COTA bus stop. The stop is serviced by the #4 Indianola/Lockbourne route and the #12 McKinley/Fields route.

Parking

We understand that convenient parking is essential. Please review the information below and check out the detailed Google map that includes both the venue and parking options.

Free Parking Lots

The Ellis provides two dedicated free lots, both just a short 4-minute walk from the main entrance.

  1. The primary lot is situated at 134 E Lincoln St, Columbus, OH 43215, with space for around 50 cars.
  2. The overflow lot is located at 677 N 4th St, Columbus, OH 43215. Please do not use the overflow lot until the primary lot is full. Gravel Parking ONLY.
Free On Street Parking

There is free street parking during the daytime in the apartment complex across from The Ellis on Neruda Avenue & Auden Avenue.

Paid On Street Parking

Additionally, there is ample street parking available on 4th Street and alongside nearby corridors. To make the process hassle-free, we recommend using the ParkColumbus App for payment and convenience. This user-friendly app allows you to save payment methods and license plate numbers for future transactions. You can even extend your parking time remotely.

Yes, there will be handicap parking available at The Ellis. There are marked spots in the parking lots connected to the venue, ensuring accessibility for all attendees.

Parking at one of the designated parking by The Ellis is free. However, hourly street parking costs may vary, and we recommend checking with ParkColumbus for current rates.

Please DO NOT park in the lot adjacent to the The Ellis.This lot is shared with the surrounding businesses, and you may be towed. If you need to drop off an attendee, you may enter the lot and then finding parking at one of the free lots or on the street.

Please DO NOT park in the lot behind the Wonder Bread Building. This lot is shared with residents and surrounding businesses, and you may be towed. 

We are currently transitioning to The Ellis, and while we appreciate our history at The Boat House, there are no immediate plans to return. We will keep you updated on any future developments.

At this time, there is limited reserved parking for panelists.

To keep our operational costs focused on our mission and accessible to a wide audience, we will continue to offer boxed lunches at CMC events.
