Director, Central Ohio Workforce Development Network
Scott Johnson is the Director of the newly created Central Ohio Workforce Development Network, a membership based collective impact initiative providing comprehensive support and resources for job seekers and employers in Central Ohio. This innovative systems approach aligns organizations with diverse expertise for improved access to quality workforce development services and talent while championing equitable job access and economic mobility for everyone.
Prior to the launch of the Central Ohio Workforce Development Network, Scott served as the Job Center Operator for the OhioMeansJobs Columbus-Franklin County (OMJCFC) Job Center where he focused on establishing the Job Center as a pivotal no-cost resource for residents and employers to access partner services. During his 6-year tenure in this role, OMJCFC saw significant growth in unique visitors connected for employment focused services, including over 12,000 residents in the last program year.
Scott, a Purdue University graduate, launched his career in workforce development in 2009 when he joined EmployIndy. The focus of his work with EmployIndy, the workforce development board for the Indianapolis MSA, included process improvement, implementation of technology to improve access to services, and policy and initiative development. Through his work, EmployIndy launched sector focused initiatives that empowered residents to explore careers in healthcare, IT, and advanced manufacturing.
