Carrie Harris-Muller has influenced and created a better consumer healthcare experience and developed meaningful and strategic partnerships to help organizations transform in an industry surrounded by disruptors and constant challenges. Over the past 25 years, Ms. Harris-Muller has held leadership roles in health systems, health plans and insurance companies in corporate strategy and transformation, business development and clinical operations and administration. Ms. Harris-Muller has established a track record building businesses, growing and leading health care companies, developing talent and teams, structuring new joint venture partnerships, and creating new business lines that make healthcare easy, seamless and accessible.
Currently, Ms. Harris-Muller serves as a corporate officer in her role as Senior Vice President and Chief Population Health Officer of OhioHealth Corporation. OhioHealth is a regional health system serving a 50-county region with 35,000 employees, $6 billion in revenue and is consistently ranked one of the top ten health systems in the country. Ms. Harris-Muller has led and executed several large, scaled acquisitions, including a $30 million physician acquisition in 2022. She has also led the corporate Medicare Advantage strategy, primary and urgent care strategy and several other enterprise-wide transformation initiatives focused on building the right health care delivery system that meets the needs of the communities that OhioHealth serves. She is currently co-leading the corporate health equity strategy for OhioHealth.
Ms. Harris-Muller has deep experience in all aspects of healthcare and has built an accountable care organization that generated $20 million in its first year, and a government program health plan with revenue tripling from $40 million to $120 million in the first three years.
In 2017, she was elected as a director of Cielo Health, a privately held for-profit human resources organization that provides talent management, executive search, contingent workforce solutions and consulting services to international, national, and local hospital systems. She sat on the executive committee and was a significant contributor to the sale of the company. She still holds an Emeritus status on the Board. In 2018, she was elected to the United Way of Central Columbus Ohio Board and served as the co-chair of the Finance and Audit committee. In 2019, she was elected to the Board of Directors for the National Center for HealthCare Leadership and serves on the executive and finance committee. She is also a director for Select Medical, and the board chair of the OhioHealthy Health Plan.
Ms. Harris-Muller is a member of the Women Business Leaders of the US Health Care Industry. In 2022 and 2023, Becker’s Hospital Review recognized Ms. Harris-Muller as one of the top 50 national population health executives in the country.
Ms. Harris-Muller completed her undergraduate degree from Madonna University, Livonia, Michigan, where she is a past member of the Alumni Board. Her graduate degree in Health Care Administration and Public Health is from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Ms. Harris-Muller received certification from the Executive Management Program at the Harvard Business School and the Advanced Leadership Program certification at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill-Kenan Flagler Business School. She also is a certified managed care executive through the America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and continues to be a mentor in the program.
