Sandra Rodriguez Toledo is currently the VP Site Operations of Amgen’s new greenfield Advanced Assembly and Finished Product Operation, which supplies the US market. She successfully commercialized the Amgen Ohio site in January 2024, just 26 months after groundbreaking, and continues to drive the growth of the operation to reliably supply medicines to patients.

Sandra has over 30 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industry. She previously held the role of Executive Director/Plant Manager for the Amgen Manufacturing Limited (AML) Inspection, Packaging and Solid Dosage organization. Sandra joined Amgen in 2013 as Director, Drug Product Process Development and played a key role in the approval of Amgen’s PR New Formulation and Filling facility. Over the past several years, Sandra has contributed to Amgen’s international expansion and has led U.S. and Canada new products introductions.

Before joining Amgen, Sandra served as Plant Manager for the Blu Caribe Inc. site in Dorado, Puerto Rico. Additionally, she was Director in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Plant Manager for Biovail Laboratories International at Dorado and Carolina sites. Sandra held various positions in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Research & Development of solid dosage at Galephar Pharmaceutical, in Carolina, Puerto Rico.

Sandra holds a bachelor’s degree of Science in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico.
