Algenon L. Marbley

Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio

Appointed United States District Judge for the Southern District of Ohio, Eastern Division at Columbus on November 7, 1997, sworn in on November 10, 1997. The position was formerly held by United States District Judge John D. Holschuh. Judge Marbley was recommended to President Clinton by Senator John Glenn on May 14, 1997; nominated by President Clinton on July 31, 1997; Senate hearing was on September 30, 1997, and Senate confirmation on October 27, 1997. President Clinton signed the Commission on November 7, 1997.

Partner with the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease (Associate 1986-1991; Partner 1991-1997) with seventeen years of litigation experience including civil, criminal and administrative. Civil experience was in the areas of general business litigation, product liability and employment litigation.
