Nurse Manager, OSU Wexner Medical Center
A 25-year employee of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Nechelle Marlowe has worked in every nursing role. Starting as a nurse’s assistant in the Medical ICU, Nechelle studied at Mount Carmel College of Nursing to become a registered nurse, was promoted to assistant nurse manager, and now leads as the nurse manager of the MICU.
Nechelle led her team through the pandemic with grace and dedication. She recently received one of the highest nursing honors at the Wexner Medical Center – an excellence in leadership award. Her nominator highlighted that she is the primary reason for the positive, team-oriented environment where employees thrive, especially amid the pandemic.
In addition to her professional career, Nechelle owns a small business as a cookie decorator and serves on the board of directors for the Cardinal Mooney High School Minority Alumni Council in her hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. Nechelle and her husband of 25-years are the proud parents of two daughters and four beautiful grandchildren.
