What topics should CMC be discussing? Who should we have as panelists? Tell us!

The not-for-profit Columbus Metropolitan Club hosts forums featuring expert panelists who delve into current events, public policy matters, and spotlight leadership lessons. Please share your ideas for topics and panelists with us!

Note that CMC receives many more proposals than we have open forum dates. CMC does occasionally hold commemorative forums (that mark notable anniversaries and milestones), but submissions that foster a healthy debate between opposing perspectives are more likely to get the nod from our staff and our editorial board, the Program Committee. The Program Committee meets monthly to discuss the ideas CMC receives and to help CMC select the topics and panelists that become forums.

As you consider a submission, think about the following important criteria:

Will the topic or panelist be compelling to a broad audience?
Is the topic an issue with multiple perspectives that can generate dialogue between diverse panelists
Can the topic or panelist amplify underserved voices?
Is the topic or panelist compelling enough to generate an audience of at least 125 paying in-person audience members?
Are there sponsors or other stakeholders potentially willing to underwrite the cost of the forum?
Are there organizations willing to partner with CMC to spread the word about the forum and to purchase tables for their stakeholders to attend?

Next steps: The CMC Program Committee will discuss your forum topic proposal and evaluate it. The committee may accept it nearly as is, ask for further info, table it for future consideration, or decide that it’s just not a good fit. The Program Committee meets the first Friday of every month and will get back with you as soon as possible following the committee meeting.
