A.J. Casey has been a nonprofit leader, trainer, and consultant for 30 years. She specializes in professional development and executive coaching, board training & advancement, fundraising assessments and strategy design, as well as capital campaigns. She has led projects of local, regional and national scope.
Before launching her own practice in 2006, AJ served for eight years as a senior consultant and vice president in a national philanthropic consulting firm. Earlier, she held positions ranging from chief donor relations officer to executive director within nonprofit organizations. Casey, was previously of counsel at Benefactor Group, a full-service consulting firm, working with nonprofit organizations across the US. A.J. has earned certifications as a Certified Fund Raising Executive and a Certified LifeSuccess Coach. Ms. Casey held a position on the Stonewall board and assisted with the Stonewall Builds capital campaign prior to stepping forward and adding her name to the list of potential candidates for the executive director role.
She has served as a faculty member of the international Consultant’s Academy co-sponsored by The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) International and the Giving Institute; and, as a manager of NSA Ohio’s Speaker’s Academy. A.J. is a former vice president of National Speakers Association (NSA), Ohio chapter; a former executive board member for the Columbus Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals; and a past board president for Mental Health America of Franklin County. A popular trainer and speaker, A.J. is the creator, director and producer of the workshop and CD series Make Ya Wanna STOMP!
A.J. is an alumna of Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where she studied foreign languages and international economics.
