President and CEO, Columbus Partnership
Alex Fischer is the President and CEO of the Columbus Partnership, formed in 2002 to improve the economic and cultural base of central Ohio.
Prior to joining the Columbus Partnership, Fischer was Senior Vice President for Business and Economic Development for Battelle. Fischer was previously the Director of Technology Transfer and Economic Development for UT-Battelle at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Before joining Battelle, Fischer served as the Deputy Governor and Chief of Staff to Tennessee Governor Don Sundquist. Prior to his service as Deputy Governor, Fischer served as the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
Fischer received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he also received his MBA and a Master’s degree in Architecture and Planning.
