Director of Network Development, Amtrak
Arun has 21 years of experience in transportation, and has worked in public transportation and passenger rail since 2006. He worked at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) for over 20 years. For the past 10 years, Arun was responsible for the planning, policy, program and implementation of passenger rail at WisDOT. In this role, Arun also served as Chair of the 23-state States for Passenger Rail Coalition, and Vice Chair of the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Commission. Last July, Arun accepted a position as Director of Network Development at Amtrak. In this new role, Arun is responsible for coordinating and facilitating Amtrak and the states’ efforts to advance passenger rail corridor improvements and new corridors from the early stages in FRA’s corridor development process, through to implementation.
Arun has a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin –Madison and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He has a Bachelor in Business Administration in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics.
