Executive Director, Freedom Equity Inc. and the Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce

J. Averi Frost, a Columbus native and Executive Director of Freedom Equity Inc. and the Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce, is committed to addressing the opportunity gap in the community. A graduate of Denison University and Eastmoor Academy High School, Frost’s journey reflects her dedication to removing barriers to progress, influenced by her parents’ impactful contributions to Central Ohio.

With a 15-year career focused on supporting small, Black, and minority-owned businesses, Frost currently leads the Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce, where she empowers the Black business community through education and capacity building. And as Executive Director of Freedom Equity Inc., a groundbreaking community development financial institution, she has facilitated over $2M in loans since Q1 2023, contributing to the economic upliftment of the community.

Frost’s prior role as Director of the Columbus Minority Business Assistance Center showcased her expertise in business development, offering essential guidance to numerous business owners. Beyond her professional roles, she sits on the Board of Directors for the Columbus Empowerment Corporation, aligning with her vision for holistic empowerment. Additionally, Frost has served on the boards of the Community Capital Development Corp., Mothers Helping Mothers, Inc., and Black, Out, & Proud, Inc., demonstrating her commitment to various community development initiatives.
