Carol Luper graduated from Buffalo Bennett High School Buffalo, New York, attended Cornell University and graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S in Marketing.
Luper began her broadcast career in Columbus as a reporter at WRFD Radio and, WBNS Radio. She spent 10 years at WBNS- TV as a Reporter and host of the weekly program “THE ISSUE.” From 1989 to September of 2013 she was a reporter for WSYX and WTTE and hosted the weekly program ‘NEWSMAKERS ‘ for many years.
As a reporter Luper covered stories from Presidents to political campaigns, from the courts to the coroner’s office. Topics ranging from breaking news-accidents, fires and murders to elections and medical breakthroughs, from politics to Pelatonia. Luper covered courtroom dramas throughout her career and was in court in 1979 on the first day cameras were allowed in. Luper has also been a host and moderator for many televised debates including for The Columbus Metropolitan Club and The Consortium for Good Government.
Carol and her husband, Fred Luper. who was a lawyer, have two sons, a daughter, and seven grandchildren.
