Program Manager, My Brother's Keeper, City of Columbus, Department of Neighborhoods

Chris Suel, a proud Columbus native and Columbus City School graduate serves as the My Brother’s Keeper Program Manager for the city’s Department of Neighborhoods. As the MBK Program Manager, Suel focuses on addressing persistent opportunity gaps by young men of color. My Brother’s Keeper works rigorously to identify and eliminate barriers that hinder the success of boys and young men of color on an individual, organizational and systematic level. Suel utilizes his background with working alongside diverse communities to aid him in building collaboration with key stakeholders to improve successful outcomes for Black young men of color.

Suel helps underdeveloped, minority communities in Columbus through his civic endeavors. Volunteerism is truly his passion. He is an active member of CULYP (Columbus Urban League Young Professionals), New Leaders Council and the Housing Committee for Central Community Settlement House. He also serves the Civic Endeavors Committee as an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Alpha Rho Lambda Chapter, and volunteers regularly at Windsor Academy Elementary and Linden McKinley STEM. He also, honorably serves our country as a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves.

Prior to working for the City of Columbus, Suel was a Case Manager for Franklin County Children Services. He later served with the Community Outreach unit with Franklin County Job and Family Services. Suel is a graduate of Wright State University, from which he earned his Bachelors’ degree in Sociology and Business Management, and is currently Masters Candidate in Public Administration at Franklin University.
