Board Member, Transit Columbus
D’Laveance Bert-Sims is an advocate for equitable transportation and currently serves as a board member of Transit Columbus. A lifelong transit rider—starting with COTA’s Line 81 (now Line 22)—and avid cyclist, he’s dedicated to making public transit safe, convenient, and dignified for all. Currently studying City & Regional Planning and Public Affairs at The Ohio State University as a Morrill Excellence Scholar, he has interned with Columbus’ Department of Public Service and held roles advancing transit equity. He is active with the National Society of Black Engineers and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials, and was featured in a short film by Demise Collective spotlighting his work in transit equity.
