Dr. Mona Prasad

System Chief, Maternal Fetal Medicine , OhioHealth Physicians Group

Mona Prasad has been a member of the Columbus community since medical training placed her at The Ohio State University in 2001. Having graduated from undergrad and public health school from that school up north, putting down roots in Columbus, Ohio did not seem likely at the time, but 25 years later, she can’t imagine a different trajectory.

Dr Prasad is boarded in OB/GYN, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Addiction Medicine, and has completed I2S2 training (i squared/s squared) in quality improvement at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She is currently a practicing maternal fetal medicine physician at OhioHealth where she serves as the Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine for the OhioHealth System. She is driven by her why: Women Matter. Though deceptively simple on the surface, these two words are  enough to keep her showing up in spite of the climate or adversity.

Her clinical and academic passions include research and writing on hepatitis C and pregnancy and optimizing care of pregnant people with substance use disorder. Her current system work prioritizes creating systems of care where all women receive the care they need in a setting that is rooted in compassion, evidence, and safety. She lends her voice to the Ohio Perinatal Quality Collaborative, Ohio Department of Medicaid, and Ohio ACOG in hopes that the lessons learned in her career can help influence the future.

Mona has been married to Matt Nawrocki (who is much cooler and nicer than I) since 2004, and is the proud parent of Nora (18) who attends the University of Georgia, and Neve (16) a sophomore  golfer/theater nerd at Upper Arlington.
