Ellie Merritt is co-anchor of NBC4 at 5 p.m. with Duane Pohlman, and the medical reporter. She joined the NBC4 family in May of 2008. Prior to her work with NBC4, Merritt has held anchor and reporter positions at stations in Minnesota, Missouri and Ohio. Merritt is an Emmy Award winning news anchor and reporter. She recently was honored with an Emmy Award for her coverage in the Autism Puzzle. She has trained with firefighters, reported live from inside a hot air balloon, covered the destruction of severe tornadoes, and interviewed political figures and celebrities from all walks of life. She grew up in Minnesota, graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Merritt, her husband Matt, and their two daughters are proud to call Central Ohio home.
