Gail Hogan is an Emmy award winning broadcast journalist who has worked in TV and radio in Ohio for over 30 years. Gail retired from TV in September 2014.

Gail has worked as a TV news reporter, news anchor, news magazine co-host, radio morning show personality, media trainer and most recently the founder of her own business, GMH Media, Ltd. A few years ago, Gail founded, produced and hosted her own weekly TV talk show, Showcase Columbus. That weekly show was the foundation for the daily live program, Daytime Columbus, where she acted as host and executive producer for years until retirement.

Gail also has a career as freelance talent. Her expertise includes on camera and voice over talent work. She spent most of her TV and radio years in Columbus, Ohio, working at WSYX-TV, WCMH-TV, 610/TVN Radio and WLVQ-FM. During her tenure in broadcasting, Gail has been a reporter in radio and TV, a TV news anchor, radio morning show personality, host of Columbus PM Magazine and a TV talk show host.

Currently, Gail is partnering with the Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital on wellness and community heart health issues.

Gail is a heart disease survivor and has spent more than 30 years working for the Central Ohio Chapter of the American Heart Association. Her work with the organization is extensive. Gail was part of the Columbus Women’s Heart Health initiative, to bring attention to women’s heart issues, in the 1990’s. That local project, in part, led to the national Go Red for Women campaign, now a nationwide American Heart Association program.

Gail has also been involved as a volunteer for the local heart walk, the Go Red luncheon, Ohio American Heart Association communication outreach, CPR advocate, a community speaker on heart health issues and past board member with the Central Ohio Chapter of the American Heart Association. Being a heart disease survivor Gail is passionate about educating the public on heart disease prevention and CPR training.

In 2016, Gail worked to pass Ohio House Bill 311 to require CPR training for all Ohio high school students. She recently was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award from the American Heart Association’s 5 state Great Rivers Affiliate for her advocacy work. She also received the Leadership Legacy Award from the Great River’s Affiliate for her many years of service. Currently she is the Committee Chair for the Ohio Advocacy Committee.

Gail is a past board member of Alvis House. This non-profit organization works on family focused re-entry programs to transition individuals back into the community after being involved in the criminal justice system or incarcerated for non violent offenses.

As a mother of 3 Gail has been actively involved in her children’s schools over the years. Gail was on the school board of Immaculate Conception Elementary School. She also served 7 years on the Watterson High School Mother’s Club, with primary duties of working on fundraising projects for the school. Gail is also active in her church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbus, and served a 3 year term on a renovation committee planning the expansion of the church and school, and is currently President of the Parish Council.

Besides her work on various boards, school and church projects, Gail is involved with many non- profit organizations in Columbus as an emcee and host at charity events.

Gail is married to Dan Hogan, a retired Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge. They have three grown children.
