CEO, Columbus Early Learning Centers
Dr. Ginn has served as Columbus Early Learning Centers’ Chief Executive Officer since June 2015. After earning a bachelor’s degree in environmental and biological sciences from the University of Cincinnati, she attended The Ohio State University where she completed a master’s degree in educational policy and leadership and a Ph.D. in workforce development. Prior to assuming her current position, Dr. Ginn spent more than ten years in the nonprofit sector working in fundraising and development.
Columbus Early Learning Centers (CELC) is an anti-poverty focused nonprofit organization that has provided early learning and affordable child care since 1887. As CEO, Dr. Ginn directs the long-term strategic plan of the organization, engages in extensive community outreach, and provides servant leadership and support for center directors and teaching staff. Under the direction of Dr. Ginn, the number of CELC child care centers has increased from two to five, all of which have earned the highest rating of 5-Stars in the State’s child care quality rating system, Step Up to Quality. CELC has also been selected as the operator of the City of Columbus’ new Hilltop Early Learning Center.
During her tenure, CELC has been awarded the 2018 United Way of Central Ohio’s Richard V. Carrick Community Award and The Columbus Foundation’s Top 5 Nonprofits to Watch in 2019. Dr. Ginn was selected as one of the Columbus’ 40 Under 40 (2014), selected as one of the Top 19 Nonprofit Innovators (2019), received the Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service Nonprofit Executive Director of the Year (2020) and was honored with the Columbus Smart50 Award (2021). She currently serves as a member of the City of Columbus Women’s Commission, the City of Columbus Recovery and Resilience Advisory Committee, and is on the Board of Directors for the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County.
