Dr. Bielicki is Associate Faculty Director of Research at the Sustainability Institute and Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geodetic Engineering and the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. A fox among hedgehogs, he is attracted to challenges in the greyness between the black and white of academic fields. He investigates issues where energy and environmental systems and policy intersect (his Energy Sustainability Research Laboratory); advances U.S. university energy research, education, and leadership through a network of energy institutes across the United States (University Energy Institute Leadership Collaborative); directed an NSF National Research Traineeship on convergent graduate training for a sustainable energy future (Ohio State EmPOWERment Program); and has worked at three U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratories (Fermilab, Los Alamos, Oak Ridge). Dr. Bielicki is a blackbelt, baseball coach, runner, meditator, improvisor, and tutor to his son on architecting a life of his choosing.
