Public Health Commissioner, Franklin County
Joe Mazzola is Health Commissioner for Franklin County Public Health, having previously served as Director of Health Systems and Planning. FCPH’s mission is to improve the health of the community by preventing disease, promoting healthy living, and protecting against public health threats through education, policies, programs and partnerships.
Prior to joining the department, he worked at the Ohio Department of Health where he held a variety of positions including Local Health Department Liaison. Before working for the state, Mazzola served as the Policy and Government Liaison for the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation and a Regional Policy Coordinator at the American Lung Association.
Mazzola has a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing from Marietta College and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Health from Kent State University.
