Outreach and Advocacy Manager, AARP Ohio
For over 20 years, Kalitha Williams has focused her career on advancing policies to improve the lives of Ohioans at the local, state and national levels. As the Manager of Advocacy & Outreach for AARP Ohio, she leads the government affairs team to advance the priorities of Ohio’s 1.5 million AARP members with state and federal policymakers.
Kalitha began her career as a fellow in the, prestigious, Ohio Legislative Service Commission. She has proven experience in advocacy, policy analysis, and strategic leadership from her previous positions with the Ohio House of Representatives, Columbus Urban League, Ohio Domestic Violence Network, and Policy Matters Ohio.
Kalitha has a history of community service and activism. She served on national board of the Consumer Federation of America, is a founding steering committee member of the Ohio Women’s Public Policy Network, an inaugural member of the Create Columbus Commission (formerly the Columbus Young Professionals Commission), former Political Action Committee Chair of the Ohio Conference of the NAACP and directed the first Ohio NAACP Lobby Day, and is a 2017 fellow in the Congressional Black Caucus Policy Leadership Institute. Currently, she is a member of Ohio Women In Government.
Kalitha has a bachelor’s degree from Denison University and a master’s degree in public administration from Central Michigan University.
