Karen Kasler is Statehouse Bureau Chief for Ohio Public Radio and TV, having served with the organization since 2004.
Previously, she worked at WTAM-AM in Cleveland, WBNS-TV, and WCBE-AM. During her career, Kasler covered the 2000 Republican National Convention, was media witness to the execution of Wilford Berry, and co-produced an award-winning, nationally-distributed documentary on the one-year anniversary of September 11th.
Each year, she anchors the Bureau’s live coverage of the governor’s State of the State and was a moderator for US Senate debates in 2012 and 2010. She’s produced features for NPR and “Marketplace”, and has been interviewed by NPR, the BBC, NBC, and several local and regional stations.
Kasler received her Bachelor’s Degree from Otterbein College and was a Fellow in the Kiplinger Program for Mid-Career Journalists at The Ohio State University where she received her Master’s Degree.
