Kathiann M. Kowalski is an experienced journalist who writes on a wide range of topics. To date, Kathi has written 25 books and more than 700 articles and stories. She welcomes the challenge of new assignments for print, broadcast, and online media.

Kathi’s work has won numerous honors and awards, including honors from the Society of Professional Journalists’ Ohio chapters, the ASPCA, Society of School Librarians International, National Science Teachers Association and Children’s Book Council. She has been a fellow in several competitive programs, including a Heinrich Boell Foundation Transatlantic Media Fellowship, Logan Science Journalism Fellowships at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole and Chicago, the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism Resilience Fellowship, and the Institute for Journalism & Natural Resources Shale Country Institute.

Kathi obtained her Bachelor’s degree in political science from Hofstra University. Her law degree is from Harvard Law School, where she served on the Law Review. In addition to writing, Kathi has spent 15 years practicing law, with an emphasis on environmental issues, corporate matters, and litigation. She enjoys hiking, sewing, reading and travel.
