Lauren Hagan is the Chief Executive Officer of the Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML), one of the nation’s most recognized public library systems. She assumed the CEO role on October 1, 2024, following a nationwide search conducted by the library’s Board of Trustees. Prior to becoming CEO, Hagan served as CML’s Chief Financial Officer beginning in 2018, where she provided strategic financial and operational leadership for the organization.

In her leadership roles at CML, Hagan has overseen major capital investments, including the planning and construction of multiple library branch projects, management of a budget exceeding $120 million, technology initiatives, and long-term financial planning. She also played a key role in the library’s successful levy efforts and helped strengthen the organization’s financial position, including an upgrade to its debt rating.

Before joining the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Hagan held leadership positions at Loyola University Chicago, ultimately serving as Senior Associate Vice President of Finance and Controller. She is recognized for her expertise in finance, operations, organizational strategy, and community-focused leadership
