Principal, Bolek Besser Glesius
Matthew D. Besser is the Managing Principal at Bolek Besser Glesius in Cleveland, where he represents individuals in civil rights and employment discrimination cases. He also serves in a volunteer capacity as General Counsel of the ACLU of Ohio. In June, Matt was sworn in as President-Elect of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and next year will become the first civil rights lawyer to serve as CMBA President.
A host of peer-review organizations have recognized Matt for his skill and integrity as an advocate for the public good. He holds the esteemed “AV Preeminent”® rating from attorney rating service Martindale-Hubbell. In 2022, U.S. News’ The Best Lawyers in America named Matt its Cleveland employment “Lawyer of the Year” for his work representing employees. And in 2020, the Ohio State Bar Association gave him its Best Ohio Supreme Court Brief Award.
Matt is a summa cum laude graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and avid Buckeyes fan. He lives in Cleveland’s east side suburbs with his wife and two young sons.
