Robyn Lyons-Robinson, Ph.D.

Chair of the English Department, Columbus State Community College

Dr. Robyn Lyons-Robinson has taught composition and literature at Columbus State Community College since 1994. She is the former Director of CSCC’s Writing Center and currently serves as the English Department Chair.

In addition to teaching, Lyons-Robinson co-produced the stage plays Flyin’ West (2003) and Harvest the Frost (2004).

She received the Common Differences Essay Award from The Ohio State University’s Women’s Studies Department for her essay “Who is Aunt Jemima?: The History of an American Icon”. She co-authored Making Literacy Work: A “Phenomenal Woman” Negotiating Her Literacy Identity in and for an African-American Women’s Club and Literacy, Economy, and Power: Writing and Research After “Literacy in American Lives”.
