Senior Researcher at The Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society, University of California, Berkeley
Suparna Bhaskaran is part of a national initiative, Closing the Women’s Wealth Gap, that advances policies and strategies that build wealth for low wealth women and women of color, and is a policy researcher with the Haas Institute for a Fair & Inclusive Society, at the University of California, Berkeley.
Her multi-state work has documented how “wealth stripping” practices systematically take a toll on low to moderate wealth women of color and white women. Her work also explores the vital relationship between public health and wealth in cities and communities.
She also has taught and directed Gender and Sexuality Studies Programs at Antioch College, Ohio Wesleyan University, and Agnes Scott College.
Bhaskaran received her Bachelor’s Degree from Hood College and her Master’s Degree and Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
