Dr. Teresa C. Long is the recently retired Columbus Health Commissioner, having previously served as Medical Director and Assistant Health Commissioner for the Columbus Health Department from 1986 until 2002. Prior to coming to Columbus, Dr. Long served on the front lines of the emerging AIDS epidemic as a physician specialist with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Upon her arrival in Columbus, she was instrumental in organizing the Health Department’s response to HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Long is a Clinical Associate Professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health and has become a frontline volunteer with Equitas Health related to the Opiate epidemic. She holds a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of California – San Francisco.
