Dr. Thomas P. Houston is currently a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at The Ohio State University. He is the founder and principal faculty of a nationally certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist training program at The Breathing Association in Columbus, where he is director of the Lung Health Clinic and a Board member.
Houston recently retired from practice at McConnell Heart Health Center where he worked in cardiac rehabilitation and prevention services. After a 10-year career in academic family medicine, he led the American Medical Association’s tobacco control and public health advocacy programs for 13 years, and was director of the AMA/Robert Wood Johnson Foundation SmokeLess States National Tobacco Policy Initiative.
He received his M.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where he completed his residency and was chief resident.
