Executive Director, Dayton Metro Library
Tim Kambitsch is the Executive Director of the Dayton Metro Library.
A third generation Daytonian, Tim is proud of his deep roots and a lifetime of experiences in Dayton. He is a product of Chaminade High School and attended Sinclair Community College prior to receiving his undergraduate degree from Wright State University. He received his Masters in Library and Information Science at Kent State University and completed additional graduate coursework in Public Administration from the University of Dayton.
Tim has spent much of his professional career involved in library technology. He served the Dayton Metro Library as Assistant Director for Information Technology prior to his appointment to the position of Executive Director in 2001.
Tim is an active member in the Ohio Library Council, the American Library Association, and the Urban Libraries Council. His current community service includes serving on the Board of Trustees of the Dayton Society of Natural History and its Sunwatch Committee. Tim is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Dayton and now chairs the Curriculum Committee and serves on the Leadership Dayton Board of Governors. Tim also serves on the Montgomery County Law Library Resources Board and is a member of the Montgomery County Family and Children First Council’s Young People Succeeding Outcome Team.
Tim regularly volunteers for his service to the Oregon District Historical Society where he lives with his wife Julie Beall, another Dayton native and Director of the Alexandria Montessori School in Centerville.
