Tracy Nájera has committed her professional career to improving the lives of children and their families, especially those most vulnerable in society. Nájera joined Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio in February 2017 as its Executive Director.

Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio provides a strong, effective, and independent voice for all the children of America who cannot vote, lobby, or speak for themselves. They pay particular attention to the needs of poor children, children of color, and those with disabilities.

Nájera has provided leadership in research, policy, program implementation, and advocacy through her work with Education First Consulting, Battelle for Kids, the Ohio Office of Budget and Management, and KidsOhio.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree in Public Administration, and Ph.D. all from The Ohio State University.
