Yvette McGee Brown was the first African American woman to serve as a Justice on the Ohio Supreme Court. Prior to that she was a Judge on the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. Today, Yvette is the Partner-In-Charge of Diversity, Inclusion, and Advancement at the global law firm Jones Day and a partner in the Business and Tort Litigation practice where she represents clients in complex litigation, corporate and government investigations, and appellate matters.
Yvette is an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association serving on complex commercial panel. In addition, she is an active community and corporate leader, serving on the board of directors for Encova Mutual Insurance Group, The Jeffrey Company, and KIPP Columbus. A graduate of Columbus City Schools, Yvette graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Journalism/Public Relations, followed by her Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law.
