50 Years of Title IX Changed the Playing Field

This event has ended, but don't worry we have a new forum each week!

“Title IX,” part of a landmark civil rights law passed in 1972, changed the sports world forever by barring discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance.

Come explore the legacy of fifty years of Title IX as CMC marks National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a panel of distinguished experts who will unpack the changes – and the challenges – resulting from this landmark law on the world of sports.

Featuring Dawn Stewart, Vice President for Student Affairs, Director of Athletics, Otterbein University, Linda Logan, Executive Director, Greater Columbus Sports Commission, Janine Oman, Senior Deputy Director of Athletics, The Ohio State University, and Kimberlee Kiehl, Ph.D., Associate Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer, the Ohio High School Athletic Association, with host Michael Arace, Sports Columnist, The Columbus Dispatch.
