Members First Tour of the Huntington Mansion

This event has ended, but don't worry we have a new forum each week!

This marvelous historic property was commissioned by Francis Ropes Huntington (one of the three sons of P.W. Huntington, the founder of Huntington Bank in 1866), to be built in 1923, the project took three years to complete. Interesting details include: the large wooden door that leads from the massive living room into a towering chapel was “carved by Spanish monks of the 17th century for their monastery,” according to a 1947 article appearing on The Dispatch society page. The living room’s stone fireplace mantel “was taken from an old English manor house.” In addition, there are unique plantings on the property, some from Europe, according to the original landscape plans.

Our hosts, the mansion’s newest owners, Dr. Dan Good and Mr. Doug Sadler, have generously agreed to open their 11,000 square foot home for an exclusive CMC member tour! Registration will include a cocktail reception to follow the tour.
