SWACO’s Big Steps Towards a Sustainable Future

This event has ended, but don't worry we have a new forum each week!

According to SWACO’s website, “Every year, Franklin County residents and businesses send over a million tons of material to the Franklin County landfill. Even though Franklin County’s 50 percent recycling rate exceeds the national average, nearly 76 percent of materials that end up in the landfill can be recycled or composted…In Franklin County, nearly a million pounds of food waste arrives at the landfill every day.” In what ways is the system of refuse collection, recycling, and composting evolving and what are the opportunities that exist for our community to make a positive impact? Our panel will share their insights.

Featuring Ty Marsh, Executive Director, SWACO and Scott Barbour, President and CEO, Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc.,and Michelle Crandall, City Manager, City of Hilliard, with host, Beth Burger, Science Reporter, The Columbus Dispatch.
