The Election Results: What They Mean for Our Democracy

This event has ended, but don't worry we have a new forum each week!

Democracy in Crisis Series Presented in Partnership with WOSU Public Media | Political Series

The late US Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis called states the “laboratories of democracy”. Thanks to gerrymandering and fiercely partisan politics, some fear states like Ohio threaten our democracy. The 2022 election once again featured unconstitutional maps of Ohio districts virtually assuring one party rule. We’ll look at the results of this year’s election and what they might mean for the future of our democracy.

Featuring Bradley A. Smith, Josiah H. Blackmore II/Shirley M. Nault Professor of Law, Capital University Law School, Karen Kasler, Bureau Chief, Statehouse News Bureau, and Wendy Smooth, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Political Science, The Ohio State University, with host Mike Thompson, Chief Content Director, News and Public Affairs, WOSU Public Media.
