The Invisible Problem Everywhere: Confronting the Gender Data Gap

It’s no secret that Central Ohio’s women face unique barriers in the accumulation and creation of personal wealth. The cost of the disparity is enormous: the Federal Reserve estimates that closing gender and racial wealth gaps could have increased Ohio’s GDP by $67 billion between 2005 and 2019. The barriers women disproportionately face include the lack of affordable childcare and chronic and persistent pay gaps at work. The pandemic only made the situation worse. Despite the significant impact women have on Central Ohio’s economy, there’s been little disaggregated research data to inform decision making and policy development, but that’s about to change. Join us for a crucial panel discussion on addressing the unique challenges faced by women in Central Ohio, particularly in the post-pandemic landscape. With a panel of passionate leaders, we’ll explore the need for a comprehensive data-driven strategy involving public, private, and nonprofit sectors to create effective solutions to help Central Ohio’s women accelerate their wealth creation.
