Position Title: Vice President of Programming
Reports to: President & CEO
Employment Status: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary
The ideal candidate is insatiably curious, has experience in the media, content production of media or meetings; a news-junky, well-connected in the community, personable, well-organized and can manage multiple assignments simultaneously. A team player who can support a small team that accomplished a great deal of work. A person who can remain neutral and has respect for unlimited perspectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Program Development
- Coordinate and guide the efforts of the Program Committee to identify trends, issues, topics and speakers for public forums by monitoring local, regional, national, and world news sources and participating in local events.
- Research topics, identify and contact speakers to develop and refine forum topics for public presentation with a priority placed on all aspects of speaker diversity.
- Collaborate with colleagues for marketing, PR, sponsorships, and development/sales strategies and activities for each forum.
- Preparation of speakers as needed before the forum and at the forum.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential speakers, moderators, partners, and constituents, including building and maintaining an accurate database of bios, photos, and contact information.
- Solicit and accept ideas from those interested in forum cultivation and provide information and counseling on CMC’s programming process.
- Maintain accurate forum information in CMC planning calendar to include complete and accurate speaker names and titles, which serves as the data for all marketing, PR, communications, and sponsor initiatives.
- Oversee appropriate and professional thank yous sent to all speakers.
Video and Podcast Program Producer
- Oversee and coordinate the technical crew providing video production, lighting, and audio for weekly, 50-minute, multi-camera show. Currently, CTV provides a technical crew in trade for CMC content.
- Assist as needed for day-of-event room-set including proper table and stage placement, marketing materials, backdrop, and other venue requirements to assure a high-quality program for the in-house and livestreaming audiences.
- Oversee the management of all equipment, supplies and technical needs to ensure adequate supply and reliable operation of all equipment.
- Oversee production and distribution of a weekly podcast gleaned from the forum.
General Responsibilities
- Participate in all CMC-presented events and support colleagues as needed.
- Participate in community events to network and stay abreast of news.
- Assist President & CEO and colleagues with special projects when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communication, Sales, Public Relations or equivalent
- Must be able to remain neutral and have respect for unlimited perspectives.
- Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Professional content creation (television/radio show production)
- Media – working as a broadcast or print journalist
- PR/Media Services Agency experience working with a team
- Content development for meetings and events

Physical Requirements
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
Visual Acuity
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
Environmental Conditions
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
